MTA and Shattuck-St. Mary’s compete in the Central Region. MTA opens its regular season Sept. 15 at the National Portugal Soccer Jersey Sports Center in Blaine against the FC Sockers of Chicago. Shattuck opens the same day, playing FC Milwaukee in Faribault.

MTA and Shattuck will play teams from Milwaukee, St. Louis, Michigan, Indianapolis and Ohio. Trips are by bus until the Nike Showcase in December in Sarasota, Fla., where the top five qualifiers in each of the five regions converge.

If MTA and Shattuck qualify, they will fly to Florida for the Nike event. Coaches from many of the nation’s top college programs will be there to scout prospects.
